Dermal Fillers Restylane
A natural beauty lift
The resilience and youthful contours of your skin, and its ability to counter the effects of time, wind and weather, owes much to hyaluronic acid.
Smoothing wrinkles and folds; or giving your mouth a fuller, more sensuous form, requires only natural substances. Restylane gives shape with the body’s own natural material, hyaluronic acid. In the skin it creates volume, resulting in a healthy and vital appearance. It is an effective and long-lasting choice. Gaining the look you desire is easy and quick and the results are instantaneous.
There are several choices in the Restylane product which are specially designed for different purposes and effects:
Facial Lines & Wrinkles
Restylane Fillers can help smooth away wrinkles and folds by adding volume to the skin. Fine lines can be improved with Restylane Skinboosters by improving the skins hydration and elasticity.
The Restylane range includes two products exclusively for lip enhancement and revitalisation. Restore or enhance volume to your lips with Restylane Lip Volume or improve hydration to dry 'chapped' lips with Restylane Lip Refresh.
Restylane fillers can also be used as a volumiser to recontour the face to restore
or enhance volume to facial features such as the cheeks, cheekbones and chin that have become hollow or less prominent due to weight loss or age-related facial fat loss.
Frequently Asked Questions...
1) How does it work?
After injection, the gel particles in Restylane binds water, as the gel breaks down, water takes its place. The less concentrated the gel becomes, the more water it is able to bind. These facts are the main reasons that treatments with Restylane products last so long. When totally absorbed; the gel disappears unnoticed from the body.
2) Is Restylane safe?
Restylane is a safe product, made of hyaluronic acid, which is naturally present in the body. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is biodegradable; which means that when the injected gel breaks down, it turns into water and carbon dioxide, and disappears unnoticed from your body.
No skin test is required, as Restylane does not contain any animal-derived ingredients.
3) Where may Restylane be used?
It may be used for correcting deep facial folds; thin and superficial wrinkles, for example around the eyes and mouth, forehead lines and smile lines. It can also be used for enhancement and volume augmentation of the lips.
4) How long does Restylane last?
A Restylane treatment is long lasting but not permanent. The effect is very individual; and depends on many factors, such as your age, skin type, life style and muscle activity. It is recommended that you plan for regular future visits to maintain the result. This has been shown to increase the duration of the result.
5) What about the Restylane injection process?
No previous skin test is needed. The session often takes less than 30 minutes. The result is instantaneous. A touch up treatment after a minimum of two weeks may be necessary to achieve an optimal correction.
Prior to your procedure, a local anaesthetic topical cream can be applied to the area prior to treatment for a more comfortable experience.
The lips are a highly sensitive part of the body and, therefore, additional anaesthesia may be required before lip enhancement. This is achieved most effectively by using a dental block or local anaesthetic.
We will be able to advise on suitable anaesthesia for your treatment.
6) Are there any side effects?
Immediately after the procedure, some common injection-related reactions may occur, such as slight redness, swelling, tenderness and an itching sensation in the treated area. These typically resolve spontaneously within one to two days after the treatment.
7) What care do I need to take after my treatment?
Avoid touching the treated area if possible within the first few hours. After that the area can be gently washed with soap and water, and light make up can be applied. If you previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the procedure could contribute to another eruption. If you are taking aspirin or any similar medication, please note that the treatment may increase the bruising at the injection site.
8) How much does it cost?
Prices start from £160 and vary depending on the amount and type of material used.
